Treatment of a Coronary Aneurysm with Angioplasty and Implantation of Stent Covered with an Autologous Vein

Abstract

A 49 years old woman with angor pectoris in functional class II and positive tests for ischemia was studied in our laboratory.In the angiography ananeurysm was detected in the proximal third of the left anterior descending coronary artery without evidence of stenosis. According to the published cases in the literature that suggest an interventional approach when these anatomical anomalies are identified, we performed the implantation of a coated vein stent with the purpose of getting the exclusion of the aneurysm and so to avoid the thrombosis and embolic phenomenon, obtaining a satisfactory result.We address the low incidence of these aneurysms in the coronary circulation and discuss the probability of an etiology not atherosclerotic in origin.
