Abstract

The transition between office blood pressure (BP) recordings and outpatient recordings, particularly with the use of Home and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (MDPA and ABPM), has allowed greater recognition of nocturnal arterial hypertension (NHT) and abnormal patterns of nocturnal BP decline. This issue of the RAC presents the work of Perea J et al. where a prevalence of HTAN of almost 64% was observed, with a significant role as an independent predictor of adverse cardiovascular events. The categorization of the severity of HTAN and its correlation with the incidence of major events should be highlighted as originality.
