Perioperative Evaluation for Non Cardiac Surgery

Abstract

Cardiac disease complications are the most frequent cause of morbidity and mortality undergoing non cardiac surgery.Surgical mortality is 100% higher in patients with cardiac disease. A careful clinical evaluation reduces the frequency and severity of cardiovascular complications. It is necessary to identify clinical predictors and the cardiovascular risk involved in surgery, in order to focus the efforts on the prevention and treatment of these complications.
